Ingredients (1 cup = 250 ml)
for apple mixture:
  • 1 apple, peeled
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 12-14 saffron strands
for apple poha modak recipe:
  • 1 tbsp ghee/clarified butter
  • ½ cup poha/flattened rice
  • 1 tbsp rava/sooji
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • a pinch of cinnamon powder (dalchini)
  • 2 tbsp dry fruits powder (almonds, cashew nuts & pistachios)
Instructions
for apple mixture:
  1. first of all, take a pan and grate peeled apple.
  2. then add sugar to it.
  3. saute on a low flame till the moisture almost dries up.
  4. then add saffron strands and mix well.
  5. transfer in a bowl.
for apple poha modak recipe:
  1. heat a pan and add ghee to it.
  2. next add poha and sooji.
  3. saute on a low flame for a minute.
  4. next add milk, sugar and prepared apple mixture.
  5. cook on a low flame till the mixture leaves the pan.
  6. finally add cinnamon powder and dry fruits powder.
  7. mix well.
  8. transfer in a bowl and let it cool down.
  9. now take the stuffing and fill it in a modak mould.
  10. press and make modak, repeat the process for remaining mixture.
  11. healthy and delicious apple modak are ready to offer to our beloved lord ganesha.
Helpful Tips
- you can add milk powder and raisins instead of adding dry fruits powder to get little crumble texture.

- add sugar according to your taste.
