makhana raita | puffed lotus seeds raita | makhane ka raita - quick, healthy and delicious raita to serve with stuffed kulcha or veg pulao.

Ingredients (1 cup = 250 ml)
for makhana raita recipe:
  • ½ cup makhan
  • ¾ cup thick curd
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp mint leaves, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
  • ½ tsp rock salt
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp water
Instructions
for makhana raita recipe:
  1. first of all, heat a pan and add makhana to it.
  2. roast on a medium flame till it turns light golden and crunchy.
  3. transfer in a bowl and let it cool down.
  4. now take a mixing bowl and add curd to it.
  5. next add finely chopped green chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves.
  6. beat the mixture well.
  7. then add roasted cumin seeds powder, rock salt and salt.
  8. mix well.
  9. now lightly crush makahana with hands.
  10. add makhana to the curd mixture with 1 tbsp of water and mix well.
  11. let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  12. serve makhana raita chilled with stuffed kulcha or rice dish.
Helpful Tips
- skip adding coriander leaves, salt and rock salt if making for fasting. instead add fasting salt to it.

- add red chilli powder instead of green chillies , if green chillies are not available.

- finally, serve makhane ka raita chilled with stuffed kulcha or pulao.
