Ingredients (1 cup = 250 ml)
for jaggery water:
  • ¼ cup grated jaggery
  • 1 cup water
for panakam recipe:
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp dry ginger powder
  • 2 cardamom / elaichi
  • a pinch of edible camphor / baras
  • a small pinch of salt (optional)
  • 4-5 tulsi leaves / basil
  1. for jaggery mix, add jaggery to the water & let it soak till it gets dissolved properly.
  2. now add lemon juice, ginger powder, a pinch of salt and a pinch of edible camphor.
  3. add cardamom seeds to the mixture and keep its skin aside for garnishing.
  4. now mix it well.
  5. then using strainer, filter the mixture.
  6. now add tulsi leaves and cardamom skin.
  7. panakam or panagam - a divine drink is ready to offer to lord rama.
Helpful Tips
- add ice cubes to serve it chilled.

- adjust jaggery and lemon juice according to your taste.
